Tim Armstrong

I work to commission to design, make and install stained glass windows. My approach varies according to clients¹ wishes and the needs of buildings. A site visit and consultation are usually essential so that the design is agreed before work begins. Most of my commissions require original designs, but I have a large file of period ideas for consultation. I enjoy mixing contemporary and traditional ideas and techniques.

Techniques on glass include printing, painting, sandblasting, computer design, leaded lights, mirror work and so on. By all means phone or e-mail if you have a stained glass project which you would like to discuss. My work is varied, and I am adaptable.

I also make kinetic and mirror constructions for exhibition and sale in galleries. For these my approach uses visual experiment and exploitation of light and motion.
