The Essex Craft Society was formed in 1994 to encourage high standards of design and craftsmanship through the selection of artists/ craftworkers of Essex, and to bring their work to the public through exhibitions and other events.

JOINING THE SOCIETY
If you have a serious commitment to practising a craft, have a creative attitude to design, and live in Essex, (preferably), we would like to hear from you. We strongly recommend that you contact a member of the society working in your craft area, (where possible), to show them your work and to talk about what is expected of members.

As well as Full Members, we have Associate Members, (who may re-apply for Full membership), and Friends of the Society.

FRIENDS
One of the aims of the Society is to raise awareness of the excellent work produced by people in our County. We value Friends support especially at exhibition time, when you will have the opportunity to meet the Members and other Friends, and attend Previews. There are also Social events, and you will receive a Newsletter. Pick up a Friends application form to apply, or contact the Administrator (details above).
