After first attaining a degree in art history, I studied printed and constructed textiles at The California College of Arts and Crafts. Shortly thereafter I moved to London where I worked as a freelance textile designer, designing printed textiles for the fashion market in the UK and Europe. I also began making and selling accessories for fashion and interiors.

In my printed work I have been exploring such themes as creating the illusion of depth and texture through layering of pattern; in my devore pieces, this texture and depth becomes tangible. I am also interested in using traditional techniques in conjunction with unusual and evocative colour or pattern to create pieces that cross the boundaries of time. I produced two series of scarves for the British Museum Shops which embodied these ideas. I have recently purchased a loom and plan to explore these same themes in a new medium.
